The opposition party, led by Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, staged a walkout from the parliament on Friday night, April 10, 2026, accusing the ruling BNP of a breach of understanding

Dr. Rahman alleged that the government ignored opposition input while finalizing reports on 133 interim ordinances and strategically excluded critical bills—such as police and anti-corruption reforms—from the legislative agenda.

He further criticized the "politicization" of the July Uprising Memorial Museum Bill and the lack of transparency in providing session documents.

Declaring a total lack of confidence in the government's current conduct, the opposition vowed to continue their struggle for public rights outside the parliament.
