Congratulating the newly elected Speaker and Deputy Speaker during the first session of the 13th National Parliament on Thursday, the Leader of the Opposition and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, emphasized that this legislative body stands on the historic sacrifices and "blood of the July Uprising."

Highlighting the Speaker’s legacy as a valiant Freedom Fighter, the Jamaat leader expressed his hope for a balanced parliament where the Speaker ensures fair justice for the opposition and bridges the gap between the treasury and opposition benches.

His remarks underscore a significant political transition in Bangladesh, framing the current parliament as a direct result of the student-led mass movement and calling for a legislative environment defined by neutrality and accountability rather than partisan division.
