BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi claimed on Monday, April 20, 2026, that the government increased fuel prices in response to public demand and to stabilize the market.
Speaking at a program seeking the whereabouts of missing leader Ilias Ali, Rizvi emphasized that the government is committed to dismantling any syndicates in the energy and gas sectors.
He also questioned why individuals linked to past enforced disappearances are not being taken into remand, asserting that proper interrogation would lead to information about missing BNP leaders.
Furthermore, he mentioned that existing ordinances regarding enforced disappearances would be refined into stronger, pro-humanity laws to ensure such atrocities never recur.
