Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, demanded on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, that Lebanon must be included in the ongoing 14-day ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran.

In a post on X, Ghalibaf urged Washington to abandon its "Israel First" foreign policy to ensure regional stability. He emphasized that a lasting ceasefire in Lebanon depends on the steadfast resistance of Hezbollah, whom he described as part of a unified "soul" alongside Hamas and the Houthis.

Despite the U.S.-Iran truce initiated on April 8, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have persisted, resulting in over 2,267 deaths and displacing hundreds of thousands since early March.
