Two Indian nationals were shot dead late Friday night, April 17, 2026, during a Vaisakhi festival gathering in Covo, Bergamo province, Italy. The victims, identified as Roginder Singh (48) and Gurmit Singh (48), were attacked outside the 'Gurdwara Mata Sahib Kaur Ji' as they were leaving the prayer hall.

Italian police, who recovered 10 bullet casings from the scene, believe the shooting was a "cold-blooded, premeditated murder" rather than a spontaneous dispute.

Witnesses identified the gunman as another Indian national who frequently visited the temple. Italian authorities have launched a manhunt to capture the suspect, who fled the scene in a vehicle immediately after the attack.
