U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Fox News on Tuesday (March 31) that the United States might re-evaluate its relationship and financial commitments to NATO once the conflict with Iran concludes.

Rubio expressed the Trump administration's frustration over the lack of support from NATO allies during recent joint U.S.-Israeli military operations against Iran.

He noted that while NATO's Article 5 dictates collective defense, the current reluctance of member states to back Washington’s Middle East strategy has sparked a debate over the alliance's future utility.

President Donald Trump is expected to make a final decision on whether to scale back U.S. involvement in the 32-nation military bloc, which was originally established in 1949 to ensure transatlantic security.
