Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that the door for a deal with the United States remains open, provided Washington abandons its "autocratic attitude" and respects the rights of the Iranian people.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts dpite teshe failure of the recent 21-hour marathon talks held in Islamabad, Pakistan.

This diplomatic overture comes in the wake of a devastating month-long conflict involving the U.S. and Israel, which saw the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a subsequent ceasefire declared on April 7.

While previous negotiations have ended without consensus due to long-standing disputes over Iran's nuclear program, Pezeshkian's remarks signal a strategic willingness to de-escalate if mutual respect is established.
