Sajek reopens for tourists

On Tuesday afternoon, officials announced Sajek's reopening after a meeting confirmed the fire situation was controlled

Rangamati District Administration has reopened Sajek Valley, a renowned tourist destination in Baghaichhari upazila, to visitors.

This information was announced through a press release signed by Additional District Magistrate Pathan Md Saiduzzaman on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the statement, a special meeting (online Zoom meeting) was held at 12pm regarding the fire incident and the movement of tourists in the Sajek tourist area.

Tourists’ travel to Sajek was temporarily discouraged from February 25 due to a terrible fire that broke out at Sajek Tourism Centre in Baghaichhari upazila in Rangamati district.

As the fire situation has been brought under control, the meeting decided to reopen Sajek to tourists from Tuesday afternoon.
