On Friday (April 3), State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque stated that while bringing international cricket matches back to Cox's Bazar International Stadium is currently challenging, the government is formulating plans to overcome these hurdles.

During his visit, the Minister emphasized leveraging Cox's Bazar's global fame through Sports Tourism, envisioning a modern stadium where spectators can enjoy matches in advanced settings.

He also addressed the previous administrative friction between the BCB and the National Sports Council, assuring that future developments would proceed smoothly. As part of his two-day visit, he inaugurated the 8th National Surfing Tournament-2026 at Laboni Point and inspected various sports infrastructures, including the district BKSP and the proposed Sports Village.
