The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sent letters to the scheduled banks across the country seeking information on the accounts of Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus.

“The letters were sent last week,” a BFIU official said on Monday.

The banks have been asked to submit the records, including credit card transactions, by Tuesday.

The BFIU sought account statements of the Nobel laureate for the last two years, mentioning his two NIDs – old and new.
