Coal lifting from Barapukuria mine stops, exploration from new face Nov

A total of 3.75 lakh metric ton coal was lifted from 1,113 coal face. Now, coal will be lifted from new face where 2.16 lakh metric ton coal is stored

Lifting of coal from Barapukuria mine located in Parbotipur upazila of Dinajpur has stopped  in 1,113 number coal face due to finishing of reserve.

Exploration of coal halted around 6:00 pm on Tuesday, competent source said.

Abu Bakar Siddique, chief engineer of Barapukuria 525 thermal power plant, said production of electricity has reduced resulting from the incident.

Sources said a total of 3.75 lakh metric ton coal was lifted from 1,113 coal face. Now, coal will be lifted from new face where 2.16 lakh metric ton coal is stored.

Authorities concerned said production equipment used in 1113 number face will be transferred to1412 face. Machines are being installed in the new face which is expected to go to production in the first week of November.
