Action against abnormal price of essentials in Ramadan

In order to check prices of essentials in the upcoming Ramadan, instruction has been given from Cabinet Division to Deputy Commissioners (DCs) across the country to keep strict vigilance.

Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain revealed this information after holding Monday’s cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The cabinet secretary said instruction has been given to take legal action immediately if prices of essentials increase abnormally in the market. If needed, mobile court will be conducted. 

The government has taken tough stance so that prices of essentials are not increased artificially in the Ramadan, he added.
