BMD forecasts a cyclone in the Bay this month

There may be one to two depressions in the Bay this month, of which one may turn into a cyclone

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that there is possibility of a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal this month.   

Expert committee of the BMD made the prediction in issuing a long-term forecasting at a regular meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting was presided over by BMD director and chairman of the expert committee Md. Azizur Rahman.

The expert committee chairman said there may be one to two depressions in the Bay this month, of which one may turn into a cyclone.

If any new cyclone is created in the Bay, its name will be ‘Mandous’.

Mentionable, cyclone ‘Sitrang’ crossed into Bangladesh coastal areas in the last week of October.
