6.0 magnitude earthquake hits Bangladesh

A strong earthquake, measuring 6.0 magnitude on the Richter scale, was felt in different parts of the country including the capital on Wednesday morning.

The tremor was felt around 8:21 am, said Sheikh Hanif, Electronic Assistant at Dhaka Met office.

The location of the earthquake was 26.81 North long: 92.48 E. The distance of the epicentre was 397 km east of BMD Scismic Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka.

However, no damage or casualty was reported immediately.
