Govt moves to allow Corona medicine manufacturing in Bangladesh

Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, Incepta, Beacon Pharma and Renata will manufacture medicine Molnupiravir

The government has taken initiative to allow manufacturing the Coronavirus medicine Molnupiravir in the country in a bid to ensure proper treatment of the Covid 19 patients.

Sources at Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) said it is going to allow some local pharmaceutical companies to manufacture medicine Molnupiravir as almost all top companies have sought permission in this regard.

The pharmaceuticals companies include Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, Incepta, Beacon Pharma and Renata, the DGDA sources said.

The drug administration will at first give permission to recipe of the medicine and then the manufacturing companies will make tablets. Later, DGDA will give final nod evaluating the standard of the tablets.

A few days back, the UK government approved the Molnupiravir which can reduce the casualty rate in the Coronavirus infection.
