Primary scholarship system will cease to exist: Secretary

However, the primary students will get encouraging allowance or incentive instead of scholarship

No scholarship will be given to students studying in the primary schools from now.

This was said by Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed at a programme on Thursday.

He was addressing  a press conference held at the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education in the capital.

A committee formed to draft module of giving incentive has been asked to submit report within a month.

The press conference was organised marking International Literacy Day to be held on September 8.
