Detective Branch (DB) of Police has arrested Prof Ahmad Abdul Quader, central Nayeb-e-Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh.
The law enforcers arrested him from Agargaon in the capital on Saturday evening.
He was arrested in the cases filed over the mayhem at Shapla Chattar, Motijheel on May 5, 2013, and recent violence centering the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bangladesh visit.
Md Mahbub Alam, the joint commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Detective Branch (DB), confirmed the arrest to Jago News this evening.
