Japan to get ground handling work of 3rd terminal at HSIA

Japan will take responsibility of ground handling work of the third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital.

Air-Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), confirmed this information.

He was addressing a programme titled ‘ATJFB Dialogue’ organised by Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh held at HSIA on Saturday.

The government has taken policy decision to award the work to Japan following its interest in ground handling, he added.

Japan will be given responsibility on the basis of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) of which terms are in the making.
