Govt will ensure fair price for the farmers: Food Minister

Utilizing the previous years’ experience in labour management, the food minister suggested using the local school classrooms for the storage process

The government will ensure fair price for the farmers by buying rice and paddy through government storehouses and supervising the open market to stop the syndicates from controlling price.

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said this in an online seminar on Naogaon’s Boro rice cultivation, crop-labor management, Covid situation, and lockdown.

He directed the administration to take steps for mobilizing crop laborers from surplus labour districts.
