Islamic scholar Dr. Mizanur Rahman Azhari has raised questions about the initiative to establish a regional office of the United Nations in Bangladesh.

He asked, “Are the people in countries that already host regional UN offices really living in peace?”

He made this remark in a Facebook post on Saturday (July 19).

Azhari questioned, “Why a regional UN office in this country?”

He wrote, “If we don’t strengthen our mutual understanding for the sake of peace and human rights, what can they really do here?”
