Saudi King invites PM to join Gulf Shield-1 ceremony

Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz has invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to attend the closing ceremony of joint military exercise 'Gulf Shield-1' to be held in Dammam on April 16, 2018.

Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah H M Al Mutairi handed over a letter of the Saudi King to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban in the capital on Thursday.

PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed satisfaction over the existing relations between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.

A total of 23 countries, including Bangladesh, are taking part in the Gulf Shield-1 that began on March 18, 2018.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and Principal Secretary Md. Nazibur Rahman were present.
