Youth dies of dengue in Rangpur

A young man died of dengue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital in the district early Tuesday.

A young man died of dengue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital in the district early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Mahtab Uddin, 24, of Biral upazila in Dinajpur.

Dr Saiduzzaman, associate professor of medicine department at the hospital, said Mahtab was admitted to the hospital on August 18 and had been kept at the intensive care unit for several days.

He was shifted to the general ward recently following improvement of his condition. However, he died there at around 1:00am on Tuesday.

Currently, 34 dengue patients are being treated at the hospital, Dr Saiduzzaman said.
