Secretariat officials, employees besiege finance adviser’s office
The protesters demand gratuity, rations; warn siege would continue for 'days and nights'
A group of Bangladesh Secretariat officials and employees on Monday started a sit-in at the Finance Adviser’s office demanding gratuity and rationing facilities for them.
A delegation from the protesters went inside to hold talks with Adviser Salehduddin Ahmed, but it could not be confirmed whether he was inside his room.
The protesting employees threatened they would not leave from their positions until the demands are met, even if they would have to spend the night at the finance adviser’s office.
