The 'Fifth Primary Education Development Program' will start from July 1: Prime Minister

Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman announced in Parliament on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, that the five-year 'Fifth Primary Education Development Program' (PEDP-5) is set to commence on July 1.

During the 14th day of the current session, the Prime Minister highlighted the government's commitment to improving primary education quality as per their manifesto.

He noted that out of the 376,489 primary school teachers in the country, 130,000 have already received English language training under the ongoing fourth program (PEDP-4).

With the launch of PEDP-5, the remaining teachers will be systematically trained to enhance their teaching skills and professional competence.
