First quarter of fiscal year 2017-19: Export growth in service sector is 55%
In the first quarter (2018-19) of the current fiscal year (July-September), the export growth in the country's services sector was 55.52 percent. Yesterday, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) released updated statistics.
In the first quarter (2018-19) of the current fiscal year (July-September), the export growth in the country's services sector was 55.52 percent. Yesterday, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) released updated statistics.
EPB statistics show that the total export volume in the first three months of the fiscal year was 140 billion 94 million 70 thousand dollars. During the fiscal year of FY 07-18, the amount of export was 9.63 million dollars. As a result, 55.25 percent of the growth was made.
EPB has collected data from the data collected from the Bangladesh Bank in three parts of the service sector. These three parts include Goods Procured in Ports by Carers, Goods Sold Under Merchants & Services. Meanwhile, in the Goods Procured In Ports by Careers category, the export growth in the current fiscal year was 107.42 percent compared to the first three months of the previous fiscal year. And year-wise growth of Goods Sold Under Merchants and Services category was 42.86 percent and 127.77 percent respectively.
Services which are exported from Bangladesh to the Services category include Manufacturing Services on Physical Inputs, Maintenance and Repair Services, Transportation, Travel, Construction Services, Insurance Services, Financial Services, Charges for the Use of Intellectual Property, Telecommunication and Information Services, Other Business Services, P Rsonala-culture-rikriyesanala and Government Goods and Services.
Most of the exports have been exported in the Transportation and Telecommunication and Information Services sectors. In the first quarter of the fiscal year, exported to transportation category has been 19.11 million dollars. It is 119.30 percent more than the same period last year. In the telecommunications and information services sector, the exports in the July-September quarter stood at 141.98 million dollars, which is 66.44 percent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The highest growth is on the Manufacturing Services on Physical Inputs sector; 1,280.62 percent.
