The Bangladesh Embassy in Washington has clarified that no decision has yet been made regarding the release of the next IMF loan installment.

During the spring meetings of the World Bank and IMF, a high-level Bangladesh delegation led by Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury held productive discussions with IMF officials, including Deputy Managing Director Nigel Clarke.

While the talks covered revenue generation and banking sector reforms, the Embassy emphasized that the meetings focused on the government's development vision and public interest priorities rather than immediate loan disbursement.

The IMF reaffirmed its commitment as a development partner to Bangladesh's democratically elected government, agreeing to continue dialogues on outstanding issues.
