Iranian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, announced on Wednesday (April 1) that Iran has granted permission for six Bangladesh-flagged ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz to depart.

Speaking at a press conference in Dhaka, the Ambassador confirmed that Iran's National Security Council approved the release after the Bangladesh government provided necessary identification details last week.

He noted that the process of allowing these vessels to resume their journeys is currently underway and assured that there are no further obstacles for Bangladeshi ships navigating the region.

This development follows a month of high tension in the Middle East, with Tehran pledging full cooperation to ensure the safety of Bangladeshi maritime interests.
