Rongdhanu Group Director Mizan arrested

He is also known as the cashier of former IGP Benazir Ahmed

The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Rongdhanu Group Director Mizanur Rahman Mizan on Tuesday.

Mizan is accused in more than 20 cases, including murder.

A DB team arrested Mizan, also former chairman of Rupganj upazila parishad, during a drive in Vatara area of the capital in the afternoon.

Mohammad Obaidur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed this to reporters.

Later, the law enforcers took him to the DB office on Minto Road.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police recently started an investigation into a money laundering case against Mizan, also known as the cashier of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed.
